Keyboard Shortcuts
These handy keyboard shortcuts will assist in quick starts to certain functions. Many of these shortcuts are the same on the different Windows operating systems.
General Keyboard - Shortcuts
CTRL+ESC: Opens the Start menu (use the ARROW keys to select an item)
ALT+TAB: Switch to another running program (hold down the ALT key and then press the TAB key to view the task-switching window)
SHIFT: Press and hold down the SHIFT key while you insert a CD-ROM to bypass the automatic-run feature
ALT+F4: Closes the current active window
CTRL+ALT+DEL: Brings up the Windows Task Manager to end task on a program that may not be responding.
Windows Program Keyboard Shortcuts
For use in programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
CTRL+C: Copies a highlighted item to copy to a different location.
CTRL+X: Cuts a highlighted item to copy or move to a different location.
CTRL+V: Paste a previously highlighted item that you just copied.
CTRL+Z: Will undo a previous command.
CTRL+B: After you highlight an area of text it will be bold.
CTRL+U: Will underline a certain piece of text or area highlighted.
CTRL+I: If you highlight a certain piece of text it will be Italicized.
